As the Cittaslow TRNC Network, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to our esteemed regional guide, Yusuf Nidai, for successfully representing Lefke at the Izmir Tourism Fair.

Professor Yusuf, who introduced Lefke's rich cultural heritage, unique natural beauties, and the value that the Cittaslow philosophy adds to the island to thousands of visitors, received great interest at the fair with his expertise, powerful storytelling, and heartfelt commitment to the region.

Lefke was once again one of the most effective representatives of sustainable tourism, the preservation of local culture, and slow living, which were prominent themes of this year's fair.

As Cittaslow Lefke, we are determined to continue developing the region's tourism vision and increasing our international visibility together with our stakeholders.

"There is a secret bond between slowness and memory, between speed and forgetting. A man is walking down the street. At a certain moment, he tries to recall something, but the recollection escapes him. Automatically, he slows down. Meanwhile, a person who wants to forget a disagreeable incident he has just lived through starts unconsciously to speed up his pace, as if he were trying to distance himself from a thing still too close to him in time. The degree of slowness is directly proportional to the intensity of memory; the degree of speed is directly proportional to the intensity of forgetting."
